YMCA of Pueblo Opens Doors to Support Families Impacted by Wildfire Evacuations
In response to the ongoing wildfire and mandatory evacuations affecting southern Colorado, the YMCA of Pueblo is opening its facility free of charge to displaced individuals and families.
The YMCA will provide complimentary access from June 29th, 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and June 30th from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for those impacted by the evacuations. Guests will be asked to provide proof that they are from an evacuation zone, such as an evacuation notice, official alert, or other form of verification.
The YMCA facility will offer:
Free Wi-Fi
Charging stations for electronic devices
A safe, air-conditioned place to rest
Family-friendly activities for children and adults, including access to the gym, rock wall, child watch activities, and crafts
Parents and guardians must remain on site with their children at all times.
The YMCA will continue to monitor community needs and work alongside local emergency management and partner agencies to determine additional ways to support those affected.
