The YMCA is a charitable organization, and we make sure we keep everyone active and engaged, regardless of age or ability to pay. The Y has activities and fitness classes specifically designed for older adults. We give participants an opportunity to stay physically and socially active.

Virtual Classes

Zoom Group Exercise is officially retired, but we’re thrilled to welcome you back in person! We’ve loved staying connected virtually, and now we’re excited to sweat, stretch, and move together again, live and in the building. Come experience the energy, community, and motivation you can only find in a group class at the Y!

In-Person Classes

If you are ready and able, we'd love to have you join us in-person for select classes! Active Older Adult classes will be held in the gymnasium on the south court or our Exercise Studio. Please bring your own water bottle and/or towel.

SilverSneakers®

SilverSneakers® is a preventative exercise program that enhances the quality of life for mature adults across the country. One of the largest senior-focused exercise programs in the United States, this partnership between HCD and HMOs allows Medicare-eligible members of these health plans to participate in YMCA programs at no additional cost.

Silver and Fit®

Silver&Fit is a fitness and healthy aging program designed to help you achieve better health through regular exercise. The Silver&Fit Programs include membership at a local participating fitness facility, website resources and support from Silver&Fit’s toll-free member services hotline and website. Additional features may also be included based on your Silver&Fit membership.

Renew Active®

Staying active is not only good for your body, it’s also good for your mind. Renew Active® is a fitness program designed for both, with the goal of helping Medicare members reach fitness goals and stimulate their brains. The program is available with select UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plans and includes a membership at a participating fitness location at no extra cost, as well as online exercises and activities to support brain health.

Book Club is a great way to expand your horizons, improve your reading skills, promote learning, and enjoy stimulating conversation while building lasting relationships. Thank you to the Pueblo City-County Library District for partnering with our YMCA to provide the following selection:

March's pick: "The Measure" by Nikki Erlick. A society comes together and pulls apart as everyone faces the same shocking choice. A small wooden box has been left at everyone's door with everyone's individual fate inside, the exact numbers of years they will have to live. How many will choose to open it and if they do what will they do with that knowledge

Monthly Potluck

Theme: "National Zoo Lover Cover!"

Every year on April 8th, National Zoo Lovers Day encourages us to explore local zoos. Our Pueblo Zoo is a hidden gem dating back to the 1930s. The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is celebrating their 100th anniversary all year long. Additionally, National Library Week is April 19th-25th. Their theme is "Find Your Joy." All "Hungry Hungry Hippos" are guaranteed to find joy attending the Y potluck! Cover yourself in animal prints and/or stop by our library before or after and check out a book with an animal on its cover!

Our monthly pot luck starts at 12:00pm the SECOND Friday of every month in our Community Rooms. Please bring a dish to share. More savory, less desserts please!

Writers Corner

Everyone has a story worth telling! Join us on Wednesdays from 9:00am-10:00am in the Community Rooms for Writers Corner. This inviting and safe space allows you to share your writing, reflect, and be inspired by others. Whether you're journaling life stories, crafting poems, or exploring new ideas, Writers Corner offers encouragement, connection, and the joy of putting words to paper.

Creative Corner

Join us every Wednesday from 11:00am-3:00pm in the YMCA's Community Rooms for Creative Corner! This is a welcoming space where adults come together to share their hobbies and spark inspiration. Bring your own supplies and enjoy an afternoon of creativity, conversation, and community. Whether you paint, draw, knit, crochet, quilt, bead, stamp or scrapbook—or simply love trying new crafts—you’ll find friends and fun waiting for you!

What to Expect: Discover the history, kind of work, and current services that Colorado Fuel and Iron provide to our community. In this session, CF&I's educator will share insights that bring the past to life while showing continuous support and service to the greater Pueblo area. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions about the history of CF&I.

Walk With Ease

OPEN TO ALL AGES | APRIL 6 - MAY 15, 2026

Our Walk With Ease program is a nationally recognized Arthritis Foundation walking program designed to help reduce arthritis pain and improve overall health. Participants will walk together at various scenic locations around Pueblo, including: the Y's brand new Dr. Bruno DeRose Track & Field, the Pueblo Riverwalk, and more!

While the program is especially beneficial for those with arthritis, you don’t need to have arthritis to join! Whether you're managing joint pain or simply looking to stay active and healthy, this program is for you.

Community: $20

Neuro Pong

Mondays 1:00pm-3:00pm

Besides being played for fun or competition, table tennis can be of great support to people experiencing cognitive decline and neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and ADHD.

Achieve improvement in motor function and disability status in people with Multiple Sclerosis.
Achieve improvement in both motor and non-motor symptoms in people with Parkinson’s Disease.
Avoid further mental decline, without the use of medications, in people with Mild Cognitive Impairment

Neuropong is completely FREE TO THE PUBLIC and requires no equipment! Just wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you can move around in. We kindly ask that you check-in with our YMCA Membership Team at the front desk before participating.
